Helix

Helix Cruise Center is a latest generation cruise terminal designed by Batlle i Roig Arquitectes. Opened in 2018, it is at the centre of operations for many of the major cruise shipping companies in the sector. It is located at Pier Adossat at the Port of Barcelona. Helix Cruise Center is positioned at the end of the cruise section of the pier, approximately 3km from the city centre.

Helix is a 12,500m², two-story state-of-the-art structure intuitively organized to enable a logical flow of cruise guests. Following ISPS regulations, terminal access is restricted only to passengers and employees. The ground floor accommodates a large entrance lobby and luggage hall. Upon entering the terminal cruise guests are required to go through security before accessing the terminal’s 1st floor. Once they have reached the 1st floor, before boarding their cruise ship, guests can take advantage of 280m² of retail space or enjoy a drink at the uniquely designed ‘Star Bar’. Also located on this floor are all of the services necessary to perform check-in operations. A wonderful terrace overlooking the port makes the wait much more pleasant for passengers as they prepare to board their vessel. Access to the vessel is via 2 state-of-the-art seaport passenger boarding bridges which are connected to the ship.

Helix Cruise Center can accommodate the new class of “next-generation” green cruise ships that will be fully operated by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel.

Additional services within the terminal include charging points for tablets and mobiles, changing tables for infants and a VIP lounge
